TRAINING TEACHERS TO FRONT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT): a case study in two public schools in São Luís-MA

The study had as its main goal evaluate teacher training for the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTS) and the possible progress in two public schools in elementary school, located in the city of São Luís-MA.. The research reached twenty-six teachers, seventy-three students and two administrators by means of application of questionnaires in the schools selected for the research. To complement the information in this study, we also used semi-structured interviews the Supervision of Educational Technology - STE of the Office of the Secretary of State for Education (SEDUC-MA) and the Center for Educational Technology Municipal- NTM the Municipal Secretary of Education (SEMED-MA). The work presents is structured in three parts, where initially is a theoretical approach about the importance of the use of Icts in education in the Information Society and Media. Then, we highlight the challenges and opportunities of information technology and possible ideas for the training of teachers for the use of Icts in Brazil and in the city of São Luís, MA. And finally, we present the results and analyzes of the data obtained in the research.
