TRAINING TEACHERS TO FRONT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT): a case study in two public schools in São Luís-MA

Summary: | The study had as its main goal evaluate teacher training for the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTS) and the possible progress in two public schools in elementary school, located in the city of São Luís-MA.. The research reached twenty-six teachers, seventy-three students and two administrators by means of application of questionnaires in the schools selected for the research. To complement the information in this study, we also used semi-structured interviews the Supervision of Educational Technology - STE of the Office of the Secretary of State for Education (SEDUC-MA) and the Center for Educational Technology Municipal- NTM the Municipal Secretary of Education (SEMED-MA). The work presents is structured in three parts, where initially is a theoretical approach about the importance of the use of Icts in education in the Information Society and Media. Then, we highlight the challenges and opportunities of information technology and possible ideas for the training of teachers for the use of Icts in Brazil and in the city of São Luís, MA. And finally, we present the results and analyzes of the data obtained in the research. |

And finally, we present the results and analyzes of the data obtained in the research.: O estudo teve como objetivo central avaliar a formação docente para o uso das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TICs) e os possíveis progressos obtidos em duas escolas públicas de ensino fundamental, situadas na cidade de São Luís-MA. A pesquisa foi realizada com vinte e seis professores, setenta e três alunos e dois gestores por meio de aplicação de questionários nas escolas selecionadas para a pesquisa. Para complementar as informações deste estudo, utilizou-se ainda entrevistas semiestruturadas à Supervisão de Tecnologia Educacional - STE da Secretaria de Estado da Educação (SEDUC-MA) e ao Núcleo de Tecnologia Educacional Municipal- NTM da Secretaria Municipal de Educação (SEMED-MA). O trabalho apresenta-se estruturado em três partes, onde inicialmente se faz uma abordagem teórica acerca da importância do uso das TICs para a educação na Sociedade de Informação e Comunicação. Em seguida, destacam-se os desafios e possibilidades da informática e possíveis reflexões para a formação de professores para o uso das TICs no Brasil e na cidade de São Luís-MA.
