Analysis of the geometric concept system present in the teaching book of the 4th year of Fundamental Education

Resumo: The objective of this text is to analyze of the geometric concept system present in the textbook Ápis of the 4th year of Fundamental Education. We question what the quality of teaching geometric concepts, present in the textbook, in the direction and formation of the student's mathematical thinking. For this analysis, we use the theoretical-methodological approach of Historical-Cultural Theory and Activity Theory under the framework of historical and dialectical materialism. We found that, in the teaching organization proposed by the textbook, the content worked on does not become the object of attention and study by the student, the tasks assume a technical and repetitive direction, focused on how to do and not why to do it, limiting the development of the school's mental operations, as they distance themselves from the object of study and its historical production process, they lead to unity with the system of geometric concepts.

Nos preguntamos cuál es la calidad de la enseñanza de los conceptos geométricos, presentes en el libro de texto, en la dirección y formación del pensamiento matemático del estudiante. Para este análisis utilizamos el enfoque teórico-metodológico de la Teoría Histórico-Cultural y la Teoría de la Actividad en el marco del materialismo histórico y dialéctico. Encontramos que, en la organización docente propuesta por el libro de texto, el contenido trabajado no se convierte en objeto de atención y estudio por parte del estudiante, las tareas asumen un rumbo técnico y repetitivo, enfocado en cómo hacerlo y no por qué hacerlo, limitando el desarrollo de las operaciones mentales de la escuela, al distanciarse del objeto de estudio y de su proceso histórico de producción, el camino hacia la unidad con el sistema de conceptos geométricos.O objetivo deste texto é analisar sistema de conceito geométrico presente no livro didático Ápis do 4º ano do Ensino Fundamental. Questionamos qual a qualidade do ensino de conceitos geométricos, presente no livro didático, na direção e formação do pensamento matemático do estudante. Para esta análise, utilizamos a abordagem teórico-metodológica da Teoria Histórico-Cultural e da Teoria da Atividade no âmbito do materialismo histórico e dialético.
