Resumo: | This research aimed to characterize the family farmers´s profile in a county in Alto Valedo Jequitinhonha, Minas Gerais. Some rural communities were visited to identifyproperties with some food production, in which a structured questionnaire was applied toa responsible for them. Sixty-one 61 farmers were interviewed and the most of themliving at their own home with good conditions, however in unsatisfactory environmentalconditions. In the rural area, the raise chickens was the most frequent (90.16%), while75.41% of producers reported having home vegetable garden, and the 80.32% use onlyorganic fertilizer. The most respondents (91.80%) have never received any technicalguidance on growing plants. Despite the presence of plantations and/or livestocks, mostproducers do not usually market their products. We conclude that the production systemwas characterized by low or no use of technology, following a production modelconventionally classified as traditional, with much of the production focused only family consumption. It is a virtually independent of external inputs, closely related to environmental factors such as climate and soil type. |

Editora Unimontes2020-04-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://www.periodicos.unimontes.br/index.php/rds/article/view/1842Revista Desenvolvimento Social; v. 13 n. 3 (2014); 5 - 202179-68071982-8608reponame:Revista Desenvolvimento Social (Online)instname:Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros (UNIMONTES)instacron:UNIMONTESporhttps://www.periodicos.unimontes.br/index.php/rds/article/view/1842/1970Copyright (c) 2014 Revista Desenvolvimento Socialhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessJúnia Paulino, Érika Victor Leite Dias, João Maria Gomes Murta, Nadja Aley Morais, Harriman Helder Rocha Pires, Herton 2022-11-28T21:06:15Zoai:ojs2.periodicos.unimontes.br:article/1842Revistahttps://www.periodicos.unimontes.br/index.php/rds/indexPUBhttps://www.periodicos.unimontes.br/index.php/rds/oairevista.desenvolvimento@unimontes.br2179-68071982-8608opendoar:2022-11-28T21:06:15Revista Desenvolvimento Social (Online) - Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros (UNIMONTES)false |
