Resumo: The way people organize themselves into families changes in line with the society in which they are based. In Brazil, transformations in family organization are evidenced by several factors and have motivated changes in the social and legal conception of this social organism. Aware of social changes, the 1988 Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil recognized as a family entity different models of forming a family, which eliminated the exclusivity of marriage established in Brazilian legislation. This recognition enabled the conquest of rights by several family arrangements that were previously relegated to invisibility by the national legal system. Thus, the present study aims to present a brief description of the main legal aspects contributed to the different types of family arrangements in contemporary Brazil, starting with a delimitation of the general aspects of the legal recognition of the plural family in the country, to then address the models family that has gained relevance in the legal system and the conquest of rights by each of these forms of family organization. For this purpose, the work is based on bibliographic research, which uses Brazilian legislation as well as legal literature and judicial decisions.

En Brasil las transformaciones en la organización familiar se evidencian por diversos factores y han motivado alteraciones en la concepción social y jurídica acerca de ese organismo social. Atenta a los cambios sociales la Constitución de la República Federativa de Brasil de 1988 reconoció como entidad familiar modelos diversos de constituir familia lo que eliminó la exclusividad del matrimonio establecida en la legislación brasileña. Este reconocimiento propició la conquista de derechos por varios arreglos familiares que antes eran relegados a la invisibilidad por el ordenamiento jurídico patrio. De esa forma, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo presentar una breve descripción de los principales aspectos jurídicos aportados a los diferentes tipos de arreglos familiares en el Brasil contemporáneo, iniciando con una delimitación de los aspectos generales del reconocimiento jurídico de la familia plural en el país, para luego abordar los modelos de familia que han ganado relevancia en el ordenamiento jurídico y la conquista de derechos por cada una de esas formas de organización familiar. Para tanto, el trabajo está pautado en la investigación bibliográfica, el cual se utiliza de la legislación brasileña así como de la literatura jurídica y decisiones judiciales.A forma como as pessoas se organizam em família se altera em consonância com a sociedade em que estão assentadas. No Brasil as transformações na organização familiar se evidenciam por diversos fatores e tem motivado alteração na concepção social e jurídica acerca desse organismo social. Atenta às mudanças sociais a Constituição da República Federativa do Brasil de 1988 reconheceu como entidade familiar modelos diversos de constituir família o que eliminou a exclusividade do casamento estabelecida na legislação brasileira. Esse reconhecimento propiciou a conquista de direitos por vários arranjos familiares que antes eram relegados à invisibilidade pelo ordenamento jurídico pátrio. Dessa forma, o presente estudo tem como objetivo apresentar uma breve descrição dos principais aspectos jurídicos aportados aos diferentes tipos de arranjos familiares no Brasil contemporâneo, iniciando com uma delimitação dos aspectos gerais do reconhecimento jurídico da família plural no país, para na sequência abordar os modelos de família que tem ganhado relevância no ordenamento jurídico e a conquista de direitos por cada uma dessas formas de organização familiar.
