Resumo: This article intends to demonstrate the need to change the ethical and cultural conception for the proper application of the legal principles of Sustainable Development and Intergenerational Equity, in order to preserve the environmental quality, and the healthy living of the present and future generation. For this, it is necessary to separate the human action on the environment from humanity's exploratory tradition, as well as to adopt the so-called broad anthropocentric position that must be permeated by the responsibility both in relation to the other beings that make up the biodiversity, as well as their descendants. The contribution of several areas of knowledge is relevant for the analysis of this issue. Thus, borrowing the concept of great "Other" from Lacanian theory, which demonstrates how the introjection of symbolic signifiers makes moral action possible for future generations.

Thus, borrowing the concept of great "Other" from Lacanian theory, which demonstrates how the introjection of symbolic signifiers makes moral action possible for future generations.
