EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY: A LOOK AT THE LIGHT OF PERSONAL VALUES AND MOTIVATION

Resumo: Inserted in Education for Sustainability, the research showed qualitative and descriptive, aiming to investigate how to configure personal values, motivation and knowledge of sustainability of according perception of five teachers of an Administration course of a public university Brazilian. The data collection was through semi-structured interviews, and set the a priori categories for interviews by adapting the Profile Questionnaire of Values of Tamayo and Porto (2009), the Motivation Scale at Work proposed by Gagné et al. (2010) and questions about the specific knowledge about sustainability. It was evidenced that, in general, teachers seek to use innovative techniques in their disciplines, believe that they are well viewed by society, care about individuals who live with and about the instability of society, feel fulfilled and identify with their profession, find it important and seek to bring sustainability in their disciplines and have already carried out research on the sustainability theme. As limitations of the research, interviews with only five professors of an Administration Course are mentioned, so it is suggested to extend the study, with a larger sample and in other courses and areas of knowledge.

La investigación se mostró cualitativa y descriptiva, con el objetivo de investigar cómo configurar valores personales, motivación y conocimiento de sostenibilidad de acuerdo con la percepción de cinco profesores de un curso de Administración de una universidad pública brasileña. La recolección de datos se dio por medio de entrevistas semiestructuradas, y definió las categorías a priori para entrevistas, adaptando el Cuestionario de Perfil de Valores de Tamayo y Porto (2009), la Escala de Motivación en el Trabajo, propuesta por Gagné et al. (2010) y cuestiones sobre el conocimiento específico sobre la sostenibilidad. Se evidenció que, en general, los profesores buscan utilizar técnicas innovadoras en sus disciplinas, creen que son bien vistos por la sociedad, se preocupan con los individuos que conviven y con la inestabilidad de la sociedad, se sienten realizados y se identifican con su profesión, creen importante y buscan traer sustentabilidad a sus disciplinas y ya realizaron investigaciones sobre el tema sustentabilidad. Como limitaciones de la investigación se menciona la realización de entrevistas con apenas cinco profesores de un curso de Administración, por lo que se sugiere la ampliación del estudio, con una muestra mayor y en otros cursos y áreas de conocimiento.Inserida na Educação para a Sustentabilidade, a pesquisa apresentou natureza qualitativa e caráter descritivo, tendo por objetivo investigar como se configuram os valores pessoais, a motivação e conhecimentos específicos sobre a sustentabilidade, segundo a percepção de cinco docentes de um Curso de Administração de uma universidade pública brasileira. A coleta de dados deu-se por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, sendo definidas as categorias a priori para as entrevistas por meio da adaptação do Questionário de Perfis de Valores de Tamayo e Porto (2009), da Escala de Motivação no Trabalho proposta por Gagné, Forest, Gilbert, Aubé e Morin (2010) e questionamentos acerca dos conhecimentos específicos sobre sustentabilidade. Evidenciou-se que de modo geral os docentes: buscam utilizar técnicas inovadoras em suas disciplinas, acreditam que são bem vistos pela sociedade, preocupam-se com os indivíduos que convivem e com a instabilidade da sociedade, sentem-se realizados e identificam-se com sua profissão, acham importante e procuram trazer a sustentabilidade em suas disciplinas e já realizaram pesquisas com a temática sustentabilidade.
