Resumo: Brazil faces numerous difficulties in its development related to social issues linked to the fragility of the educational process. Entrepreneurship, in addition to cooperating to promote economic growth and reducing social inequalities, also helps improve the quality of life of the population by increasing employability and improving income distribution. Distance Education (EAD) is a formative modality that has grown and become a fundamental instrument in the rise of opportunities for many people. Thus, it is believed that it is a teaching modality that fits the Brazilian needs because, in addition to minimizing distances, geographical isolation and social inequalities, it can also supply the lack of educational training of the country's population. The objective of this article is to evaluate how the Human Capital of graduates qualified by EaD provides a greater capacity to carry out entrepreneurial activities based on a field research carried out with students who graduated from the Lato Sensu Postgraduate courses of a private higher education institution in the interior of State of São Paulo. The subjects of the research were 712 students graduated from the 248 Lato Sensu Postgraduate Courses - Level of Specialization of the distance learning institution, graduating from 2011 to May 2016. The results obtained allowed us to conclude that the EAD helps the individual, after being trained by this modality, to become a participatory professional in the creation of strategic solutions to the problems and needs of society.
