Resumo: In recent years, some authors have been dedicated to research on the need to apply concepts of Change Management (CM) to Project Management (PM) in order to develop better ways of dealing with human issues, generating greater effectiveness in the deliveries of the enterprise. Aiming to contribute to this research, the present study investigated how senior project managers apply CM concepts for this purpose. The data obtained from semi-structured interviews were analyzed through an inductive approach and then, according to a correspondence approach, the theoretical basis constructed in the study was compared, generating a broader sense for the responses obtained. The results reinforced the understanding that the influence of stakeholders determines the success or failure of a project, but the human factor still receives little attention, compared to the effort dedicated to other areas of knowledge in project management. Also, according to the results, the application of CM concepts in the PM allows the development of skills and techniques to identify and analyze stakeholders, motivate and engage project teams, build administrative coalitions, and develop skills needed to deal with people during the project life cycle.
