A formação profissional na Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná: um olhar para a saúde do aluno

Resumo: | The mental health issues of young university students have been discussed and researched over the past few years, with a focus on understanding what is triggering psychological illness in students. It is in this problem of mental health in academic life that this work is inserted, with the objective of identifying how the mental health of academics at the State University of Western Paraná - UNIOESTE, Campus Cascavel is found. For the elaboration of this study, bibliographic searches were carried out for the theoretical foundation and elaboration of the questionnaire, which constitutes the instrument of data collection. The structured questionnaire has open and closed questions, in order to investigate whether young academics from UNIOESTE - campus Cascavel, are vulnerable to this problem of illness, especially of a mental nature, or if this illness factor is already present when entering university. The population of this research was 363 incoming students and 252 graduating students from all undergraduate courses at the UNIOESTE institution. Likewise, the coordinators of undergraduate courses and other teachers are part of this research, totaling 32 questionnaires applied to this group. Also included in the data collection were sectors such as the academic secretariat, student service clinic, and other sectors responsible for student assistance at UNIOESTE. The questionnaire called “institutional” has a population of 38 participants. Among the main aspects of illness, there was a number of 26% in the anxiety index and 10, 8% in depression, among graduate students, and among incoming students with an average of 25% anxiety index and 8,7% depression. In relation to the other factors addressed, stress is noteworthy, being that it is 16, 8% among graduating students and 15, 8% among incoming students. The results obtained are presented by unit of analysis, in which the triangulation method was used, for the presentation of the mean, and the discussions of the results are presented in categories, thus facilitating the exposure and interpretation of the results. |

Nesta problemática de saúde mental na vida acadêmica é que se insere esse trabalho, com o objetivo de identificar como se encontra a saúde mental dos acadêmicos da Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná - UNIOESTE, Campus Cascavel. Para a elaboração deste estudo, foram realizadas pesquisas bibliográficas para a fundamentação teórica e elaboração do questionário, que se constitui no instrumento de coleta de dados. O questionário estruturado possui perguntas abertas e fechadas, com o intuito de investigar se os jovens acadêmicos da UNIOESTE – campus Cascavel, estão vulneráveis a esta problemática de adoecimento, principalmente de cunho mental, ou se esse fator de adoecimento já está presente no ingresso na universidade. A população dessa pesquisa foi de 363 alunos ingressantes e 252 alunos formandos de todos os cursos de graduação da instituição UNIOESTE. Da mesma forma, fazem parte desta pesquisa, os coordenadores de cursos de graduação e demais docentes, totalizando 32 questionários aplicados a este grupo. Também fizeram parte da coleta de dados, setores como secretaria acadêmica, clínica de atendimento estudantil, e demais setores responsáveis pela assistência estudantil da UNIOESTE. O questionário denominado “institucional” possui a população de 38 participantes. Entre os principais aspectos de adoecimento, chegou-se ao número de 26% no índice de ansiedade e de 10,8 % de depressão, entre os alunos formandos, e entre os alunos ingressantes com média de 25% de índice de ansiedade e 8,7% de depressão. Em relação aos demais fatores abordados, chama a atenção o stress, sendo que este atinge 16,8% entre os alunos formandos e 15,8% entre os alunos ingressantes.
