Resumo: | Agroecology is a systemic and integrative science between the ecological, economic and social dimensions, its transdisciplinarity erupts in different areas of society, as it involves knowledge from different areas such as social and human sciences, ecological and agricultural sciences, economic sciences and of health, promoting sustainability, quality of life and good living. All these elements can influence environmental preservation, the promotion of healthy and sustainable agrifood systems, and the improvement of people's quality of life. In this way, the objective of this essay is to present the relevance of agroecology and well-being for collective health. We consider that agroecology contributes to the purpose of promoting healthy eating, caring for the environment and promoting good living and collective health, minimizing the occurrence of environmental degradation, the loss of its biodiversity and diseases related to the use indiscriminate use of chemical agricultural inputs. |

Todos estos elementos pueden influir en la preservación del medio ambiente, la promoción de productos agroalimentarios saludables y sostenibles, en la mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas. De esta forma, el objetivo de este ensayo es presentar la relevancia de la agroecología y el bienestar para la salud pública. Consideramos que la agroecología contribuye al propósito de promover una alimentación saludable, cuidar el medio ambiente y promover el buen vivir y la salud colectiva, minimizando ocurrencia de degradación ambiental, pérdida de su biodiversidad y enfermidades relacionados con el uso indiscriminado de insumos agrícolas químicos.A agroecologia é uma ciência sistêmica e integrativa entre as dimensões ecológica, econômica e social. Sua transdisciplinaridade eclode em diferentes áreas da sociedade, pois envolve conhecimentos de diversas áreas como as das ciências sociais e humanas, ciências ecológicas e agrícolas, ciências econômicas e da saúde, promovendo sustentabilidade, qualidade de vida e bem viver. Desta forma, o objetivo deste ensaio é apresentar a relevância da agroecologia e do bem viver para a saúde coletiva. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo de caráter exploratório e descritivo. A base de sustentação do estudo foi feita por meio da coleta de dados secundários, a partir da revisão bibliográfica. Nas bases de dados da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes), da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e da Web of Science e Scientific Electronic Library (SciELO) das produções científicas publicadas a partir das duas últimas décadas sobre o tema agroecologia e saúde. Como principais resultados visualiza-se que a agroecologia contribui no propósito de promover uma alimentação saudável, no cuidado com o meio ambiente e na promoção do bem viver e da saúde coletiva, minimizando a ocorrência da degradação do meio ambiente, da perda de sua biodiversidade e das doenças relacionadas pelo uso indiscriminado de insumos agrícolas químicos. Abstract: Agroecology is a systemic and integrative science between the ecological, economic and social dimensions, its transdisciplinarity erupts in different areas of society, as it involves knowledge from different areas such as social and human sciences, ecological and agricultural sciences, economic sciences and of health, promoting sustainability, quality of life and good living. All these elements can influence environmental preservation, the promotion of healthy and sustainable agrifood systems, and the improvement of people's quality of life. In this way, the objective of this essay is to present the relevance of agroecology and well-being for collective health.This is a qualitative exploratory and descriptive study. The support base of the study was made through the collection of secondary data, from the bibliographic review. In the databases of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), the Virtual Health Library (BVS) and the Web of Science and Scientific Electronic Library (SciELO) of the scientific productions published from the last two decades on the subject agroecology and health.
