SOFISTAS DAS REDES SOCIAIS: O DESAFIO POR UMA EDUCAÇÃO QUE ENSINE A PENSAR CRITICAMENTE

Resumo: Social network have given voice to everyone who can and wants to use them to resonate their ideas. Social media users can be compared to sophists who were a type of freelance thinkers who roamed Greek cities teaching and spreading their ideas. The sophists were criticized by Plato, Socrates and Aristotle for, according to them, having no commitment to the truth. In this essay, I seek, based on the Platonic dialogues The Sophist, Fédon, Teeteto, Socrates' Apology and Book VII of The Republic, the way presented by classical philosophers to combat discourse based on opinion (false knowledge) and not on true knowledge (based on in facts). Dialectical knowledge leads to knowledge of the essence and for that it seeks to define and distinguish ideas, consider objections and refute based on truth and not on opinion. For this type of knowledge, quality education is necessary, which teaches how to think and seeks the essence of things.

Os usuários de redes sociais podem ser comparados aos sofistas, que eram um tipo de pensadores freelancer que percorriam as cidades gregas ensinando e divulgando suas ideias. Os sofistas foram criticados por Platão, Sócrates e Aristóteles por, segundo eles, não ter compromisso com a verdade. Neste ensaio, busco, com base nos diálogos platônicos O Sofista, Fédon, Teeteto, Apologia de Sócrates e Livro VII de A República, a saída apresentada pelos filósofos clássicos para combater o discurso baseado na opinião (conhecimento falso) e não no conhecimento verdadeiro (baseado em fatos). O conhecimento dialético conduz ao conhecimento da essência e, para isso, busca definir e distinguir as ideias, além de considerar as objeções e refutar com base na verdade e não na opinião. Para esse tipo de conhecimento, é necessária uma educação de qualidade, que ensine a pensar e que busque a essência das coisas.  Las redes sociales han dado voz a todos los que pueden y quieren usarlas para hacer resonar sus ideas. Los usuarios de las redes sociales pueden compararse con los sofistas que eran un tipo de pensadores independientes que deambulaban por las ciudades griegas enseñando y difundiendo sus ideas. Los sofistas fueron criticados por Platón, Sócrates y Aristóteles por, según ellos, no tener ningún compromiso con la verdad. En este ensayo busco, a partir de los diálogos platónicos El sofista, Fédon, Teeteto, La apología de Sócrates y el Libro VII de La República, la forma que presentan los filósofos clásicos para combatir el discurso basado en la opinión (conocimiento falso) y no en el conocimiento verdadero. (basado en hechos). El conocimiento dialéctico conduce al conocimiento de la esencia y para ello busca definir y distinguir ideas, considerar objeciones y refutar con base en la verdad y no en la opinión.
