The specificities in relation to the prison population will be analyzed, highlighting the most frequent diseases in the prison environment and questions about the health of women in prison. The deductive method and bibliographic research in scientific journals, doctrine and pertinent legislation were used. The demands increase as the prison population grows and there are challenges to be overcome.
