Resumo: This paper aims to investigate the behavior of students of the Undergraduate Accounting Program of a private institution of higher education in Santa Maria – RS, regarding their personal finances. Methodologically, we adopted a quantitative and descriptive research, with data obtained through a questionnaire in a sample of 178 students of the course previously mentioned. The results showed that most students surveyed have demonstrated awareness their income received, and they can handle their own personal finances. It is highlighted that generally they tend to pay for their purchases in cash.

It is highlighted that generally they tend to pay for their purchases in cash.Este artículo tiene como objetivo verificar el comportamiento de los alumnos del Curso Ciencias Contables de una Institución Privada de Educación Superior de Santa Maria – RS, a respecto de sus finanzas personales. Metodológicamente fue adoptada una investigación cuantitativa del tipo descriptiva, con datos obtenidos a través de la aplicación de un cuestionario en una muestra de 178 alumnos del referido curso. Los resultados apuntaran que la mayoría de los alumnos investigados demostró tener conciencia de sus ingresos, y también saber cómo lidiar con sus finanzas personales. Señalase que generalmente tienen la costumbre de pagar por lo que compran utilizando dinero como forma de pagamento.Este artigo tem como objetivo verificar o comportamento dos alunos do Curso Ciências Contábeis de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior privada de Santa Maria – RS, no que diz respeito as suas finanças pessoais. Metodologicamente, adotou-se uma pesquisa quantitativa, do tipo descritiva com dados obtidos por meio da aplicação de um questionário em uma amostra de 178 alunos. Os resultados apontaram que a maioria dos alunos pesquisados demonstrou ter consciência dos rendimentos ganhos, bem como saber lidar com suas finanças pessoais.
