Resumo: | This present paper focuses on the matter of joy in ‘Tutameia: third stories’. It is João Guimarães Rosas’s empathy for it which also motivates the fundamental reflections on humour from the first preface, ‘Aletria and hermeneutics’. Humour can be thought of as a means of inducing ‘tutameic joy’ and, simultaneously, as one of the ways in which joy manifests itself. Accordingly to the author’s point of view, joy comes from a certain hermeneutics; from an exercise of interpreting reality, understood in turn as intrinsically contradictory. In an everlasting invention within the subject, joy is enterprise, risk and prowess. Laughing-anguish, always reveals itself from a deep sense of the absurd. |
