Popular song and the teaching of native language: the genre 'song' in the PCNs (Portuguese Curricular Parameters)

Resumo: Following Dominique Maingueneau´s Discourse Analysis, the present work investigates the place of the song within the official pedagogical discourse. As its representative, the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (fundamental teaching of the Portuguese language in Brazil) are here considered. Along the analysis of such a text, I will try to answer the following questions: a) what is the place of the song in the context of the categories constructed within the range of scientific discourse, but retaken by the official pedagogical discourse as “oral” and “writing” and “literary” and “non-literary?” b) based on the hypothesis that the pedagogical discourse related to the teaching of the Portuguese language keeps strong relations to the literary discourse and theory, how are there considered the similarities, the differences, and the relations between poetry and the song? c) Is one taken as the variation of the other, or are both considered as distinct genres? d) How does the song appear in such a context?

Tenemos  como su representante aquí los Parámetros Curriculares Nacionales (enseñanza básica de lengua portuguesa en Brasil). Analizando  el texto, procuraremos responder a las siguientes cuestiones: a) ¿Cuál el lugar de la canción en el contexto de categorías construídas en el ámbito del discurso científico, pero recuperadas por el discurso pedagógico oficial, como “oral”  y “escrita” y “literario” y “no-literario”? b) Partiendo de la hipótesis de que el discurso pedagógico relativo a la enseñanza del portugués todavía mantiene fuertes relaciones con la teoría y el discurso literarios. ¿Cómo están consideradas ahí las diferencias, semejanzas y relaciones entre la poesía y la canción? ¿Uno es tomado como variante de otro o son vistos como géneros distintos? ¿Cómo surge  la canción en este contexto?Sous le point de vue théorique de l’analyse du discours dévelopée par Dominique Maingueneau, ce travail a le but de chercher la place de la chanson dans le discours pédagogique officiel. Son representant ici seront les Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (ensino fundamental de língua portuguesa no Brasil). En analysant ce texte, on va essayer de répondre les questions suivantes : a) Quel est la place de la chanson dans le contexte des catégories tels « oral » x « écrit » et « litéraire » et « non litéraire » , construites dans le discours scientifique mais réprises par le discours pédagogique officiel? b) Si on part de l’hypothèse où le discours pédagogique de l´enseignement du portugais entretient une importante rélation avec le discours et la théorie litéraires, comment les différences, les ressemblances et les rapports entre la poèsie et la chanson sont-ils considérés dans le texte analysé ? Celle-ci est-elle prise comme une variante de celle-là? Est-ce qu’elles sont pensées comme deux genres differentes?
