Reading in primary and secondary school: reflections on some practices

Resumo: | In the present article, we intend to discuss the conceptions of reading and literacy that guide the reading and writing practices proposed by teachers in the context of an primary and secondary school situated in Florianópolis. In order to do that, we will firstly present a general overview of the reading/literacy concepts on which our analysis is based. Secondly, we will present the results of the research through 40 contextualizations of reading/writing activities, developed by teachers and published in a school's magazine which aims to circulate the texts produced by the students. After a initial analyses, we divided the activities into two groups (literature reading and other literacy practices), which, in a second moment, were subdivided into nine categories, according to the objectives, reading procedures and diversity of literacy events. We hope, through the analyses, to make public the some language practices used at this particular school, and their relation with the concepts of reading and literacy. |

Para eso, trazaremos un panorama de las concepciones de lectura/ literacia que subsidiaron teóricamente el análisis. A seguir, presentamos el resultado de la investigación con 40 contextualizaciones de actividades de lectura/escrita, elaboradas por los profesores/as y publicadas en una revista de la escuela, cuya finalidad es la divulgación de textos producidos por alumnos/as. Después de un primer análisis, dividimos las actividades en dos grupos (lectura de la literatura y otras prácticas de literacia), los cuales, en un segundo momento subdividimos en nueve categorías, de acuerdo con los objetivos, procedimientos de lectura y diversidad de eventos de literacia. Esperamos, a través del análisis, mostrar algunas prácticas de uso del lenguaje trabajadas en la escuela y su relación con las concepciones de lectura y literacia.Dans cet article, notre objectif est celui de présenter et discuter les conceptions de lecture/ littératie sous-jacentes aux pratiques de lecture/écriture proposées par les enseignants dans une école de l’Enseignement Fondamental et Secondaire, située à Florianópolis. Ce but en vue, tout d’abord, on a tracé un panorama des conceptions de lecture/ littératie qui ont fourni des subsides théoriques à l’analyse. Ensuite, on a présenté le résultat de la recherche avec 40 contextures d’activités de lecture/écriture, établies par les professeurs et publiées dans une revue de l’école, dont le but est celui de diffuser les textes produits par les élèves. Après une première analyse, les activités sont partagées dans deux groupes (lecture de littérature et d’autres pratiques de la littératie), lesquelles, dans un deuxième moment, sont subdivisées en neuf catégories, selon les objectifs, procédés de lecture et diversité d’évenements de la littératie. On espère, à travers l’analyse, faire connaître quelques pratiques de l’usage du langage travaillées à l’école et leur rapport avec les conceptions de lecture et littératie.Neste artigo, nosso objetivo é apresentar e discutir as concepções de leitura/letramento subjacentes às práticas de leitura/escrita propostas pelos/as professores/as em uma escola de Ensino Fundamental e Médio, localizada em Florianópolis. Para tanto, inicialmente é traçado um panorama das concepções de leitura/letramento que subsidiaram teoricamente a análise. A seguir, é apresentado o resultado da pesquisa com 40 contextualizações de atividades de leitura/escrita, elaboradas por professores/as e publicadas em uma revista da escola, cuja finalidade é a divulgação de textos produzidos por alunos/as.
