Resumo: This essay brings the critical analysis of the discourse constructed by Ruth de Aquino in the text O preconceito das Mayaras (Mayaras’ prejudice), published in Época magazine immediately after the second term of the presidential election in 2010, won by Dilma Rousseff. Initially, some considerations are made about the explicit dissemination of prejudice through texts published in this century and in the last century. After that, the analysis of Aquino’s text is carried out based on her thematic, syntactic and semantic choices. The objectives of this essay are to contribute to the reflections on the dissemination of racial prejudice through texts that circulate publicly and to contribute to the production of texts in the area of Critical Discourse Analysis in Brazil.

Inicialmente, son hechas consideraciones sobre la vehiculación explícita de prejuicios en textos publicados en este siglo y en el siglo pasado. Enseguida, es hecho el análisis del texto de Aquino con base en las elecciones temáticas y semánticas que él hace. Los objetivos de este texto son contribuir para las reflexiones sobre la vehiculación de prejuicios raciales en textos de circulación pública y contribuir para la producción de textos en el área del Análisis Crítico del Discurso en Brasil.Este ensaio traz a análise crítica do discurso construído por Ruth de Aquino no texto O preconceito das Mayaras, publicado na revista Época logo após o segundo turno da eleição presidencial de 2010, vencida por Dilma Rousseff. Inicialmente, são feitas considerações sobre a veiculação explícita de preconceitos em textos publicados neste século e no século passado. Em seguida, é feita a análise do texto de Aquino com base nas escolhas temáticas e semânticas que ela faz.
