School rules: perspectives of students

Resumo: The article presents a characterization of the concept of students about the contents and purpose of school rules as well as explaining how they influence the socialization of students at school. The study was organized around the following aspects of conceptual nature: (a) what students consider as school rules? (b) in which situations students consider as necessary the existence of rules? and (c) what students think about breaking school rules? The study will contribute to the understanding of the phenomena of indiscipline by clarifying regulatory practices of the school and identify practices of students as generators of default or break of school regulations. Respecting teacher’s practices, the study can contribute to a reflection and debate around concepts and applicability of school regulatory.

O estudo organizou-se em torno dos seguintes aspectos de natureza conceptual: (a) O que entendem os alunos por regras escolares? (b) Em que situações julgam os alunos necessária a existência de regras? e (c) O que pensam os alunos sobre o incumprimento das regras? O estudo contribuirá para a compreensão dos fenómenos de indisciplina ao clarificar as práticas normativas da escola e identificar as práticas dos alunos como geradoras de incumprimento ou violação do normativo escolar.
