CIRCULATION POLITICS OF LITERACY TEXTBOOKS IN THE SOUTH OF MATO GROSSO AND THEIR METHODS (1927-1961)

Resumo: In this study, literacy textbooks circulation devices, also known as primers, are analyzed in primary school in South of the state of Mato Grosso, between 1927 and 1961. Thereunto, a qualitative documentary research was carried out, in which national and state legal documents that guided primary education during this period were examined. From the documents investigated, we sought to understand the investment made to teach reading and writing under the light of these artifacts. The obtained results indicate that the analyzed legal devices, directly or indirectly indicated the method of literacy and textbooks that should circulate in that context, suggesting didactic practices and the way of thinking about literacy with each new law or decree created.

Para ello, se realizó una investigación cualitativa de base documental, en la cual se examinaron documentos legales de cuño nacional y estadual que orientaron la enseñanza primaria durante este período. Desde los documentos investigados, se buscó comprender la inversión hecha para enseñar a leer y escribir a la luz de esos artefactos. Los resultados alcanzados indican que los dispositivos legales analizados, de forma directa o indirecta, indicaban el método de alfabetización y los libros didácticos que deberían circular en ese contexto, subjetivando prácticas didácticas y la forma de pensar la alfabetización a cada nueva ley o decreto creados. Neste estudo, analisam-se dispositivos de circulação de livros didáticos de alfabetização, também denominados cartilhas, na escola primária do sul do estado de Mato Grosso, entre 1927 e 1961. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa de base documental, na qual foram examinados documentos legais de cunho nacional e estadual, que nortearam o ensino primário durante este período. A partir dos documentos investigados, buscou-se compreender o investimento feito para ensinar a ler e a escrever à luz desses artefatos.
