LITERACY AND READING IN SPECIAL EDUCATION: : A PROSPECT OF BRAZILIAN THESES AND DISSERTATIONS

Resumo: The aim of this article is to analyze literacy and reading for Special Education students based on Brazilian theses and dissertations. A survey was carried out in the Theses and Dissertations Catalog of the Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination (Capes) and in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD/IBICT). Were found 24 productions with the literacy, reading and special education interface (19 dissertations and 5 theses). The results indicated an increase in production from 2014, with federal institutions predominance and southeast regional representation, with the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) with more publications. We identified the prevalence of intellectual disability and deafness in the works and a tendency to consider phonological awareness for the literacy process of students, especially those with intellectual disabilities.

Se realizó una encuesta en el Catálogo de Tesis y Disertaciones de la Coordinación de Perfeccionamiento del Personal de Educación Superior (Capes) y en la Biblioteca Digital Brasileña de Tesis y Disertaciones (BDTD/IBICT). Se encontraron 24 producciones, 19 disertaciones y 5 tesis con la interfaz alfabetización, letramiento y educación especial. Los resultados indicaron un aumento en la producción a partir de 2014, con predominio de las instituciones federales y representación regional del sureste, con la Universidad Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar) con más publicaciones. Identificamos la prevalencia de discapacidad intelectual y sordera en los trabajos y una tendencia a considerar la conciencia fonológica para el proceso de alfabetización de los estudiantes, especialmente aquellos con discapacidad intelectual. O objetivo do trabalho é analisar a alfabetização e o letramento para estudantes da Educação Especial baseando-se nas teses e dissertações brasileiras. Realizou-se um levantamento no Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes) e na Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD/IBICT). Foram encontradas 24 produções, sendo 19 dissertações e 5 teses com a interface alfabetização, letramento e educação especial. Os resultados indicaram um aumento da produção a partir de 2014, com o predomínio das instituições federais (n=16) e representatividade regional sudeste (n=15), sendo a Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar) com mais publicações (n=7).
