University teaching and formation of the scientific spirit: an approach from the epistemology of Gaston Bachelard

Resumo: In this article a theoretical analysis was carried out through a bibliographic research developed by the University Teaching Research Group, educational policies, and expansion of higher education: prospects and challenges at the University of Passo Fundo, located in the City of Passo Fundo, RS State. First, it was briefly reconstructed Bachelard’s epistemological proposal as an attempt to overcome the dualism between realism and rationalism, toward applied rationalism. Afterwards, Bachelard’s arguments about the notion of epistemological obstacle and formation of the scientific spirit were rebuilt. Finally, the implications of Bachelard’s epistemology to rethink some challenges of university teaching were presented.

En primer lugar se reconstruye brevemente la propuesta epistemológica bachelardiana en un intento de superar el dualismo entre el realismo y el racionalismo, en la dirección de un racionalismo aplicado; después reconstruimos los argumentos de Bachelard en torno a la noción de obstáculo epistemológico y la formación del espíritu científico; y para finalizar presentamos las implicaciones de la epistemología bachelardiana para reconsiderar algunos de los retos de la enseñanza universitaria.Neste artigo realizamos uma análise teórica, por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, desenvolvida no Grupo de Pesquisa Docência Universitária, políticas educacionais e expansão da educação superior: perspectivas e desafios, na Universidade de Passo Fundo, RS.
