Permanence of students and EJA: narratives of elementary school students in the Sertão of Alagoas

Resumo: This paper aims to analyze the narratives of the young students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) program from a public night school in the sertão of Alagoas, considering how the possibilities of students' permanence in the school are built. This article also is part of a methodological approach qualitative research that had as data semi-structured interviews, based on the studies of youths and school permanence in the school, intertwined in the field of EJA. The dream was highlighted as the most important factor, and its chasing was done by an individual effort. In parallel with rejected discourses that try to make the subjects accept their places, such dreamers get more and more persistence in the search for a future different from the present reality.

Es parte de una investigación, que tuvo como colecta de datos la entrevista semiestructurada, teniendo la investigación cualitativa como enfoque metodológico, basada em los estudios de jóvenes y permanencia escolar, entrelazados en el campo de EJA. Destacó el sueño como el factor más frecuente, perseguido por un esfuerzo individual, y paralelo a los discursos que intentan adaptar a los sujetos a ciertos lugares, que, a su vez, se rechazan, ganando cada vez más persistencia en la búsqueda de un futuro diferente del presente vivido.Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as narrativas dos/as jovens estudantes da Educação de Jovens e Adultos, de uma escola pública noturna do sertão alagoano, considerando como são construídos os percursos de permanência escolar. É parte de uma pesquisa que teve como coleta de dados a entrevista semiestruturada, tendo como abordagem metodológica a pesquisa qualitativa, assente nos estudos das juventudes e da permanência escolar, entrelaçadas no campo da EJA.
