The present work aimed to understand the connection between statelessness and gender discrimination, as well as to identify countries that practiced gender discrimination in relation to the possibility of attributing nationality and to understand how the #IBelong Campaign, launched by UNHCR in 2014, contributed for legislative modifications, helping to reduce statelessness in the world. For this purpose, initially, the concepts of nationality and citizenship were studied, relating them to gender discrimination in order to demonstrate how it can work as a generator of statelessness. The work also sought to assimilate the context of the launching of #IBelong Campaign, its main objectives and results, and identify and individually explore the altered jurisdictions since its launch. For this purpose, the reading and interpretation of the legislation of the countries in question, as well as UNHCR reports and bibliographies on the subject, were used as a basis. From the data and legislation analysis, it was possible to perceive the importance of changing gender discriminatory clauses, in order to change patriarchal structures and allow stateless persons access to basic human rights.
