The present work consists of analyzing a new proposal to work with school geography with young children, as well as understanding the importance to start the cartographic literacy process, during the first years of the Elementary School. The proposed discussion will be anchored in the concept of maps experiences and, from there, we will identify the contributions of this resource in the production of representations of experiences in spaces. The topic will be addressed having as theoretical support the studies of Childhood and, more specifically, the Sociology of Childhood, as well as with the Historical-Cultural Theory. Such references will make it possible to look at the child and at the Teaching of Geography through a contemporary perspective of Education. The methodological procedures will be based on a qualitative approach and for data collection, a bibliographic survey.
