Resumo: The initial graduation of a Physical Education teatcher may contribute to a configuration that overcomes/minimises existing stereotypes and prejudices, allowing undergraduates to live through different experiences. For this, teacher behavior needs to encourage students’ reflection and action on gender and sexuality during initial formation, as well as to ensure equity. Based on this concern, the objectives of this present article are to identify and analyse perceptions of students in an initial graduation of Physical Education teachers about matters of gender and sexuality. Through a qualitative research, characterized as an exploratory study, were interviewed 12 graduates of the course already mentioned. From the results obtained, it was possible to observe that, although undergraduates state having had some contact with such matters in the undergraduate program, they point to conceptual and articulation frailties in the relationship between theory and practice about gender and sexuality throughout the course.

Con este fin, la conducta de enseñanza necesita alentar a los estudiantes a reflexionar y actuar sobre el género y la sexualidad durante su formación inicial, así como a promover la equidad. En base a esta preocupación, los objetivos de este artículo fueron identificar y analizar las percepciones de los estudiantes de pregrado en un curso de formación inicial para maestros de Educación Física sobre los temas de género y sexualidad. A través de la investigación cualitativa, caracterizada como un estudio exploratorio, se entrevistó a 12 graduados del curso mencionado anteriormente. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, fue posible observar que, aunque los estudiantes universitarios tuvieron algún contacto con dichos temas en educación básica y en la graduación, señalaron debilidades conceptuales y la falta de articulación entre la teoría y la práctica del tema a lo largo del curso.A formação inicial pode contribuir para a superação/minimização dos estereótipos e preconceitos existentes, possibilitando a construção de um olhar atento por parte de futur@s professor@s de Educação Física. Para isso, o comportamento docente precisa incentivar a reflexão e ação d@s estudantes sobre as questões de gênero e sexualidade, durante sua formação inicial, bem como zelar pela promoção da equidade. Partindo dessa preocupação, os objetivos do presente artigo são identificar e analisar as percepções de graduand@s de um curso de formação inicial de professor@s de Educação Física sobre as temáticas “gênero” e “sexualidade”. Por intermédio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, caracterizada como estudo exploratório, foram entrevistad@s 12 licenciand@s do referido curso.
