Resumo: This work aimed to investigate a virtual context of collaborative learning, Teletandem, in which speakers of different languages interact by means of synchronous online communication, using audio and video, in order to learn each other's language. From a theoretical point of view, there are three fundamental principles that guide the partnership of Teletandem apprentices, namely the principle of equality (or language separation), reciprocity and autonomy. Regarding this context, it is important to highlight the figure of a mediator who assists participants in their reflections on learning in this context. Mediation has been carried out in different ways by undergraduate and graduate students, who have knowledge and experience in Teletandem, through group sessions, as well as through the use of reflective journals. The overall objective was to investigate how mediation is used in Teletandem to foster the process of reflection in collaborative teaching and learning. The methodology chosen was of a qualitative nature. Audio and video recordings of the mediation sessions of a Teletandem group were used in order to explore the way that these mediations were conducted by the mediator. In addition, an interview was conducted with the mediators of the researched group, aiming to investigate the perspective of the mediator in relation to his role in conducting mediation. Finally, the final questionnaires answered by the participants were used to observe their perspective on mediation. From an interpretative perspective, the data analysis, firstly, focused on records collected by each instrument, in which relevant categories was found. With the triangulation of the data, it was possible to identify the aspects of mediation used for the elaboration of guiding questions, as well as the way the mediators use them to conduct the mediations

Do ponto de vista teórico, há três princípios fundamentais que norteiam a parceria dos aprendizes em regime de Teletandem, sendo eles o princípio da igualdade (ou separação de línguas), da reciprocidade e da autonomia. No que concerne este contexto, é importante ressaltar a figura de um mediador, que auxilia os participantes em relação às suas reflexões sobre a aprendizagem neste contexto. A mediação tem sido realizada de modos distintos, por alunos de graduação e pós-graduação que tenham conhecimento e experiência em Teletandem, por meio de sessões em grupos, assim como pelo uso de diários reflexivos. O objetivo geral foi investigar de que forma a mediação é usada no Teletandem para fomentar o processo de reflexão no ensino e aprendizagem colaborativos em tal contexto. A metodologia escolhida foi de cunho qualitativo. Gravações em áudio e vídeo das sessões de mediação de uma turma de Teletandem foram usadas para que se explorasse o modo como estas sessões foram conduzidas pelo mediador. Além disso, foi feita uma entrevista com as mediadoras da turma pesquisada, visando investigar a perspectiva do mediador em relação à sua atuação na condução da mediação. Por fim, foram usados os questionários finais, que são respondidos pelos alunos, para observar a perspectiva dos mesmos a respeito da mediação. De cunho interpretativista, a análise dos dados, primeiramente, tomou por foco registros coletados por cada instrumento, no qual o levantamento de categorias relevantes foi realizado.
