Throughout the development of the human species, the relations between man and nature have undergone infinite transformations in their most varied forms. Geography as a science acquires in this context a determining role in the interpretation of reality through important methodologies and concepts that vary according to the scientific method. Environmental Perception, coupled with the Empirical Analysis of Environmental Fragility, presents significant potential to analyze social and environmental transformations, resulting from changes in land use and occupation. In this case, Perceptive Fragility is the methodology adopted here to establish the contact between the lived knowledge, coming from the subjectivities of the subject with the scientific knowledge, highlighting how the perceptions of the subjects are identified before the Place (place of living), the Landscape (change of place) and Space (result of interactions between society and nature). In the case of the Brasil Novo neighborhood, located in the northern portion of the urban perimeter of the city of Presidente Prudente, it was noticed that, throughout the initial process of occupation of the neighborhood, environmental problems were more evident and, over time, they were resolved as the mobilization by the residents emerged.
