Resumo: | The definition of the core varies between authors, however most studies classify the muscles of the shoulders, torso, hips and thighs as its main components. Exercises that use the strength, power and stability as crucial to their executions require the use and strengthening of core muscles. The importance of the core to stabilize and force generation in several sports activities has been increasingly recognized, and, therefore, more studies in these areas are being done. These muscles' stability is defined as the ability to control the position and motion of the trunk over the pelvis to allow the transfer and control of force and motion. The muscular activity's core is best understood as a pre-programed integration of single multi-joint articulation muscles and muscles to provide stability and give motion. The core stabilizer function has been measured in several studies related to low back pain and injury prevention. Most modalities' athletes who use high levels of strength and power transfer energy from the lower limbs to the top or vice versa. Since the force and power are very important for the performance of these athletes, it is believed that the force production in the core assists this transmission, because, in the absence of this stabilization, the power generated in the lower limbs would not be transfered, compromising athletic performance. The point of this study is to verify the importance of the core muscles to the performance of team sports that use muscle power and verify if the core muscles helps the athletes in question of efficiency and injury prevention |

The point of this study is to verify the importance of the core muscles to the performance of team sports that use muscle power and verify if the core muscles helps the athletes in question of efficiency and injury preventionA definição do core varia entre autores, entretanto a maioria dos estudos classifica os músculos dos ombros, tronco, quadris e coxas como seus principais componentes.
