Resumo: This summary aims to report on activities undertaken within the framework of educational outreach projects "The teaching geographical concepts through music," activity developed since 2011 and with wide repercussions, through classes, workshops, lectures and short courses, in schools and educational institutions the Ourinhos region. The project follows the socio-historicalcultural theory and approach to cultural criticism Geography and has the objective to use the songs as motivation elements, contextualization and reflection for teaching geography concepts such as space, territory, region, place, landscape. We understand that music communicates the world and the world communicates through music, that was the challenge motivated our practice extension towards a real transformation both in the forms of disciplinary content approaches and in teaching strategies.

We understand that music communicates the world and the world communicates through music, that was the challenge motivated our practice extension towards a real transformation both in the forms of disciplinary content approaches and in teaching strategies.O presente resumo visa relatar as atividades desenvolvidas no âmbito dos projetos de extensão educativos “O ensino de conceitos geográficos através da música”, atividade desenvolvida desde 2011 e com amplas repercussões, através de aulas, oficinas, palestras e minicursos, em escolas e instituições educacionais da região de Ourinhos. O projeto segue a teoria sócio-histórico-cultural e abordagem da Geografia cultural crítica e tem o objetivo de utilizar as canções como elementos de motivação, contextualização e reflexão para o ensino de conceitos da Geografia, como espaço, território, região, lugar, paisagem.
