This work aims to discuss the use of music as a toolmethodology in Geography classes, based on the assumption that music, due to its dynamic content, is of great value in helping this discipline. The geography teacher should always be aware of current world factors and events and seek new paths and/or methods that lead to the socio-intellectual development of their students and thus form more critical and capable citizens to act positively in humanity. The music through its lyrics and verses tells and/or expresses a cultural, social, ethical and ecclesiastical meaning of a people, a place and/or both when these are inserted in the same geographic space. Traveling throughout the history of music from its likely emergence in the ancient age to the present day, the aforementioned work will highlight music as a methodological tool not only to be used in geography classes, but for all other subjects in both phases. of basic education. As with music, several other tools can take up space in the classroom, helping to develop the teaching and education process. It is up to the teacher to choose the best method to be followed and thus work with more resources, which will facilitate their professional performance. Lastly,this work seeks to integrate music as a methodology for teaching geography in the classroom, analyzing two songs “supplica Cearense and the return of the white wing” by Luiz Gonzaga, which portray the life story of the people of the semiarid region of northeastern Brazil, at different times in their stories. However, neither music, nor any other auxiliary methodological tool, by itself, will be the salvation of a dynamic and fruitful class. It is necessary that the teacher is aware that to reach this goal, it is necessary to have an integration between what to teach and how to teach geography. This is the only way to obtain satisfactory results.
