Childhood shyness is indeed less researched by scholars and a child who is considered shy, is sometimes taken for granted by parents and teachers. If the shyness goes unidentified and is not resolved, it may affect the future and might add prejudice or affect the person's emotional, social, school and professional life. This paper presents a case study arising from a project that helped a girl who demonstrated characteristics of shyness in the classroom. The goal was to discover aspects relating to the theme and how it would contribute to the participant child's emotional development. All while collaborating information from the families, teachers and schools.The method used to achieve quality research on the case study follows a deep analysis of the child and establish relationships between theory and practice. The instruments used to collect data were the observations, interviews with the child's mother and teacher as well as playful meetings in the school toy library. The analysis of data clearly showed significant changes in the child's behavior and development inside and outside of the classroom. It concludes that the playing was an instrument capable of helping the girl to express her internal conflicts and in doing so; improve her socialization and communication with friends
