Resumo: The emergence and spread of bacteria tolerant to heavy metal ions used in disinfectants have become a new threat to antimicrobial therapies. In this study, metal tolerance genes were analyzed in multidrug-resistant (MDR) Enterobacteriaceae isolated from chickens in Brazil. Different tolerance genes were found disseminated among the MDR isolates.
