Resumo: Agência Unesp de Inovação – AUIN is Unesp’s technology transfer office, being responsible for taking actions in order to protect the inventions developed by its faculty members and students. In this work, we seek to elucidate the origins of the public policy which is the mainframe of these protection activities, as well to demonstrate the methodology used in the first stages of the protection process. This analysis if mainly addressed to the evaluation of the technological information disclosed by researchers in the so called Invention Disclosures.
