O professor reflexivo no ensino de inglês como língua estrangeira: uma expreriência com expressões idiomáticas

In this study, it was discussed how the teacher can have a more active role in society, being a teacher with reflective habits, always seeking to improve his performance and also affect the society around the place where they teach. In this regard, the action-research methodology was used, and to the development of the research lesson plans were made, which were later applied in the classroom for intermediate level English students. These classes were prepared using theories related to foreign language teaching, the communicative approach, culture in the classroom and learning styles. After each lesson, students answered through logs questions related to the content they had just learned and how it was approached. By the end of all classes, they also answered a general questionnaire. The teacher, in turn, reported in reflective journals all his experience of confection and execution of the classes. At the end, it was possible to analyze the perspective of the teacher as well as that of the students on the subject work and how the subject was approached. Based on this analysis, it was possible to understand what activities and approaches the students had considered as the best to deal with the research topic and, with that, to propose an aid material for who else can be interested. The teacher also developed a reflection on the importance of acting as a researcher of his own practice
