Summary: Health sciences are in a very fast development trough the clinic (new diagnosis, treatment and prevention technologies) and the scientific (advanced studies and experiments) points of view. This evolution brought to the population an unavoidable consequence: the old population growing. The population average age growing (and consequently the high demand for healthy resources) brings with itself the growing incidence of the rheumatologic diseases, which take to the symptoms that lead the incapacities, mainly in the old people. Rheumatologic diseases, once just seen as unpreventable consequences of the aging, are nowadays considered clinical demonstrations of a body biomechanics damage lifestyle, mainly associated with an unknown genetic factor, among another factors (low metabolism at endocrine and immunologic systems, for example). So that, it’s obvious that mechanic unbalance developed trough the life aggregate to a huge amount of factors that influence on the rheumatologic disease rising, taking to the incapacitant symptoms. This study´s objective was making a literature review about the epidemic conditions and the physiologic characteristics of the rheumatologic diseases, as their repercussion in the functional incapacities at a population which grows older day after day. Besides that, this work looks to analyze the SUS function as a healthy promoter, acting trough the population awareness, and consequently, at the prevention of the rheumatologic diseases. We used Medline, Lilacs and Scielo data bases to search for scientific information on the subject.

Besides that, this work looks to analyze the SUS function as a healthy promoter, acting trough the population awareness, and consequently, at the prevention of the rheumatologic diseases. We used Medline, Lilacs and Scielo data bases to search for scientific information on the subject.
