Avaliação das propriedades funcionais de restaurações em dentes tratados endodonticamente : ensaio laboratorial

The aim of this study is to compare functional properties of direct restorations of bulk fill resins and conventional composite resins in endodontically treated teeth. 72 healthy human premolars were selected, which were separated into 6 experimental groups with n=12 in each group. Then, class II (MOD) cavities were made, among the samples, half had 1/3 of the palatal cusp removed and endodontic treatment was performed in all samples. The samples were restored with 3 different techniques: incremental with Filtek Z350XT resin, combined with Filtek Bulk Fill Flowable resin + Filtek Z350XT and single increment with Filtek One Bulk Fill Restorative, totaling the 6 experimental groups, three with 1/3 of the palatal cusp removed and three with the same healthy cusp. The samples were submitted to a fatigue test in a mechanical pneumatic cycler with a load of 80 N for 1 million cycles and the restorations evaluated according to FDI-World Dental Federation criteria every 250,000 cycles. FDI scores were analyzed using Fisher's exact test (p<0.05). The different restorative techniques presented similar performance in the analysis of the FDI criteria, however, taking into account elements with greater loss of tooth structure, the Bulk Fill technique presented greater reliability. Bulk Fill resins can be used in situations of extensive loss of coronary structure with benefits and adequate performance.
