Resumo: Abstract: This study aimed to investigate parental support’s influence on athletes’ involvement with female indoor soccer. The subjects were 10 athletes from Londrina-PR. As instruments it was used the Embu scale and a semi-structured interview. Data analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics and content analysis. Results showed a perception of positive family relations, affective and financial support and engagement from de parents. Other highlighted factors were: few parents with restrictions about the sport; family, social and cultural influence to initiation; pleasure and dedication with the practice that is growing in the national context. Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar la influencia del apoyo de los padres en la participación de los atletas con el fútbol sala. Participaron diez atletas de Londrina-PR. Los instrumentos fueron la escala Embu y una entrevista. Para el análisis se utilizó la estadística descriptiva y análisis de contenido. Los resultados mostraron una percepción positiva de las relaciones familiares, el apoyo y la participación de los padres, emocionales y financieras. Otros factores que se destacaron: los padres con pocas restricciones en el deporte, las influencias de la familia, social y cultural para la iniciación , el placer y la dedicación a la práctica. Se concluyó que los atletas perciben un apoyo de los padres con énfasis en la autonomía, participación de los padres con la práctica y el soporte estructural o facilitado el inicio y la continuación en el contexto deportivo. Palabras clave: relaciones padres-hijo; deportes; fútbol; atletas; autonomía personal. O objetivo do estudo foi investigar a influência do suporte parental no envolvimento de atletas com o futsal feminino. Participaram da pesquisa dez atletas de futsal de Londrina-PR. Os instrumentos de medida foram a escala Embu e uma entrevista semiestruturada. Para a análise dos dados, utilizaram-se a estatística descritiva e a análise de conteúdo. Os resultados evidenciaram a percepção de relacionamentos familiares positivos, de apoio e envolvimento dos pais, afetivo e financeiro. Outros fatores foram destacados: poucos pais com restrições sobre o esporte; influência familiar, social e cultural para a iniciação; prazer e dedicação com a prática que está evoluindo no cenário nacional.
