Resumo: The objective was to study, with infra-human subjects and a free-operant procedure, the distribution of responses during the process of differentiation, considering the duration of the response as the reinforcement criteria and establishing the lower and superior limits of the required duration; the study was performed in a way so it would be able to compare the distribution of responses when exteroceptive – in this case, a sound – could have granted the control over the dimension duration with the distribution when such control could not be systematically established. The subjects were two male Wistar rat, under hydric restriction and experimentally naïve. The results indicate that the sound contributes with the production of a differentiated repertoire. However, when compared to other researches it was indicated that this effect can vary depending on the type of stimuli used.

Editora Mackenzie2009-12-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/ptp/article/view/2224Journal Psychology: Theory and Practice ; Vol. 11 No. 3 (2009); 40-53Revista Psicologia: Teoría y Práctica; Vol. 11 Núm. 3 (2009); 40-53Revista Psicologia: Teoria e Prática; v. 11 n. 3 (2009); 40-531980-69061516-3687reponame:Psicologia (Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie.
