Generalized Reading on Thesis and Dissertations Electronically Available: Some Brazilian Production Characteristics

Resumo: | The research production on recombinative/generalized reading can contribute to more effective results in reading performance of Brazilian children. This study aimed to describe some characteristics of electronically available thesis and dissertations about recombinative/generalized reading produced by Brazilian Universities. On-line databases and bibliographical references were searched. Within 1990-2010 were found 66 studies (nine doctoral dissertations and 57 master’s thesis). The participants were not identified only at seven studies in which the study’s copy or abstract were nor electronically available. There were found 19 advisors who worked at nine different Universities. Most of these Universities were public schools (seven). No production was found at 1991-1993 and 1998-1999. Since 2000 there was at least one study per year. In 2007, a great increase was followed by a light decrease throughout the next years at doctoral dissertations and master’s thesis production. Most of the participants were children who had reading problems at school. |

Este trabajo identificó algunas características de la producción de tesis y disertaciones sobre lectura recombinativa generalizada, en las universidades brasileñas, disponibles electrónicamente. Se realizó búsqueda en distintas fuentes electrónicas y agotamiento bibliográfico. Se encontraron 66 trabajos entre 1990 y 2010 (nueve tesis y 57 disertaciones). Siete no tenían resúmenes/ejemplares disponibles on-line, lo que comprometió solo la identificación total de los participantes. Las tesis y disertaciones tuvieron la orientación de 19 profesores afiliados a nueve universidades. La mayoría (siete) de las instituciones era pública. De 1990-1999, hubo dos períodos inactivos (1991-1993 y 1998-1999); desde 2000, hubo la producción de, por lo menos, un trabajo por año; en 2007, hubo una añadidura acentuada en la producción y pequeña disminución en los años siguientes. En la mayoría de las investigaciones se trabajó con niños escolarizados con dificultades de lectura.A produção de pesquisas de leitura recombinativa/generalizada pode contribuir para resultados mais eficazes no desempenho em leitura das crianças brasileiras. Este trabalho levantou características da produção de teses e dissertações sobre leitura recombinativa/generalizada, nas universidades brasileiras, disponíveis eletronicamente. Realizou-se busca em diferentes fontes eletrônicas e por meio do esgotamento bibliográfico. Foram encontrados 66 trabalhos no período de 1990 e 2010 (nove teses e 57 dissertações). Sete não possuíam resumos/exemplares disponíveis on-line, o que impossibilitou apenas a identificação dos participantes. As teses e dissertações foram orientadas por 19 professores, filiados a nove universidades. Essas instituições eram majoritariamente públicas (sete). De 1990-1999, ocorreram dois períodos inativos (1991-1993 e 1998-1999); a partir de 2000, houve a produção de, pelo menos, um trabalho por ano; em 2007 ocorreu um acréscimo acentuado na produção e leve queda nos anos seguintes.
