Violation of children’s and adolescents’ rights on the perspective of teachers

Resumo: This study aimed to understand the perspective of teachers concerning the violation of children’s and adolescents’ rights, based on theoretical-epistemological relation between the guarantee of human rights and bioethics. Twenty teachers from public schools in Santa Maria/RS were part of the study. An interview and a demographic and labor questionnaire were used. Among the results, it is highlighted that most of the teachers have already faced children’s and adolescents’ rights violation. Physical violence was identified the most and the ways of coping with it were to access Children Services and to inquire the people responsible for the children. An impasse was established regarding the accusation, presenting a bioethical dilemma. Most of the teachers was engaged in the problem. However, they felt unprepared and insecure to act considering violation situations lived on school. Therefore, capacitation programmes on violation of the rights of children and adolescents are discussed. Keywords: Teachers; Human rights; Bioethics; Domestic violence; Human rights abuses.

Este estudio tuvo por objetivo comprender la visión de los profesores referente a La violación de los derechos de los niños y adolescentes, sobre la base teórico-epistemológica da relación entre la garantía de los derechos humanos y la bioética. Participaron veinte profesores de escuelas públicas de Santa Maria, RS. Fueron utilizados una entrevista y cuestionario biosociodemográfico y laboral. Entre los resultados, se subraya que la mayoría de los profesores ya enfrento a la violencia de los derechos de los niños y adolescentes. La violencia física fue La más identificada y las maneras de enfrentamiento mencionadas fueron accionar al Consejo Tutelar y llamar a los responsables por el niño. Se constató un dilema frente a la denuncia se configurando un problema bioético. La mayoría de los profesores se mostró comprometida con el problema al mismo tiempo no se sentía preparada para actuar frente a las situaciones de violencia ocurridas en la escuela. Los programas de capacitación sobre la violación de los derechos de los niños y adolescentes se discuten. Este estudo objetivou compreender a visão dos professores quanto à violação dos direitos das crianças e dos adolescentes, tendo como base teórico-epistemológica a relação entre a garantia dos direitos humanos e a bioética. Participaram 20 educadores da rede pública de Santa Maria/RS. Foram utilizados uma entrevista e questionário biosociodemográfico e laboral. Entre os resultados, destaca-se que grande parte dos educadores já se deparou com a violação dos direitos das crianças e adolescentes. A violência física foi a mais identificada e as formas de enfrentamento mencionadas foram acionar o Conselho Tutelar e chamar os responsáveis pelo aluno. Constatou-se um impasse frente à notificação, configurando um dilema bioético. A maioria dos professores apresentou-se engajada no problema, contudo, sentiu-se despreparada e insegura para agir frente às situações de violação vivenciadas na escola. Programas de capacitação sobre violação dos direitos da criança e do adolescente são discutidos.
