This study aims to analyze the interrelation between the Right to Personal Data Protection, Competition Law and Consumer Law in the era of big data and the data driven economy, analyzing the controversy raised in academia and in the legal environment, by some schollars, that there would be a real “cross over” or intertwining between legal protection (and its enforcement) to the privacy, consumer and competitive rights, with specific reference to these rights inserted in the context of a highly digitalized society and economy, marked by social networks and characterized by the massive use of highly technological equipment for processing personal data captured from consumers. The hypothesis presented in the present work is that, in truth, although there are strong points of contact and interrelation between these three areas, each of these 3 fields is not confused, being different and autonomous branches of rights, with different objects of protection.
