Resumo: | Stimulated by the experience as a Visual Arts teacher, the present research comes from the need to seek answers for some matters regarding teaching art. the intention was to analyze what theorists in art, education and art education think about contemporary art and teaching, and also how visual arts teachers deal with this manifestation as through fruition and as proposers. Are there contact points between theory and practice? The methodology was interviews with visual arts teachers who work in public and private teaching, and who are recognized as proposers in situations which involve contemporary art. Still as a selection criteria for those interviewed, the following aspects were considered: teachers who teach Basic Education II and took their students to the 29th Bienal de Arte in São Paulo in 2010. The path traced in the research begins in the investigation of some aspects of contemporary art, travels through the experimental territory of the encounter with art - fruition - and arrives at the place where art joins teaching. In this never ending path, specifics required by the teaching of art were evidenced and, mainly, the importance of a contemporary thinking in teaching art. |

A intenção foi analisar, o que os teóricos da arte, da educação e da arte educação pensam sobre a arte contemporânea e o seu ensino e também como os professores de artes visuais tem lidado com essa manifestação enquanto fruidores e propositores. Existem pontos de contato entre a teoria e a prática? Como metodologia foram realizadas entrevistas a professores de artes visuais que trabalham no ensino público e particular e que são reconhecidos como propositores de situações que envolvam a arte contemporânea. Ainda como critério de seleção dos entrevistados levou-se em conta os seguintes aspectos: professores que lecionam no Ensino Fundamental II e que levaram seus alunos na 29ª Bienal de Arte de São Paulo em 2010. O caminho traçado pela pesquisa inicia-se através da investigação sobre alguns aspectos da arte contemporânea, atravessa o território experiencial do encontro com a arte - a fruição - e chega ao local onde a arte se alia ao ensino.
