Resumo: | This article is the result of studies and debates conducted by researchers of the Group of Studies and Research Childhoods, Teacher Education and Cultural Diversity (GIFORDIC) about ethical and epistemological issues present in research with children. The text seeks to problematize them in the face of the theoretical and methodological procedures adopted in investigations carried out by GIFORDIC in the field of Early Childhood Education, discussing works that address the right to the city of children who live and produce their educabilities in urban peripheries, especially in the city of São Gonçalo/RJ. We think it is necessary to deepen the conception of ethics in research with children as an experience of knowledge. Este artigo é fruto de estudos e debates realizados por pesquisadores e pesquisadoras do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa Infâncias, Formação de Professores e Diversidade Cultural (Gifordic) acerca de questões éticas e epistemológicas presentes na pesquisa com crianças. O texto busca problematizá-las diante dos procedimentos teóricos e metodológicos adotados em investigações realizadas pelo Gifordic no campo da Educação Infantil, discutindo trabalhos que abordam o direito à cidade de crianças que vivem e produzem suas educabilidades em periferias urbanas, especialmente na cidade de São Gonçalo/RJ.
