Resumo: The twentieth century presents a great paradox, it was the feeling that modern architecture looked like it had come to stay, but in the last decades of that century, much that heritage decline and facing extinction. The conservation of Modern Movement architecture represents, in the beginning of XXI century, a great challenge, therefore, since 1988, in Paris, was founded do.co.mo.mo. (Documentation and Conservation of Modern Movement architecture) and Chapter Mexico in 2003. Efforts in the various member countries, through records, research, conservation projects and reports, are intended to contribute to the assessment and recovery of multiple projects and works, urban and architectural level that marked our contemporary times. However, problems such as premature aging, apparent lack of maintenance and obsolescence, have hampered their stay, with a low valuation and urban architectural heritage. Thus, from the paradox above, facing the modern architecture of our cities with a weighting emerging as a cultural heritage to a commercial maelstrom of urban land that rejects everything that is not profitable. So, for the present paper, would present two cases of modern architecture in Mexico, which almost entirely lost the battle for their stay, the city of Culiacan, located northwest of the country, and large theaters built between 1920 and 1970.

- dez. ; 112-121arq.urb; Núm. 6 (2011): jul. - dez. ; 112-121arq.urb; n. 6 (2011): jul. - dez. ; 112-1211984-5766reponame:arq.urbinstname:Universidade São Judas Tadeuinstacron:USJTporhttps://revistaarqurb.com.br/arqurb/article/view/307/279Copyright (c) 2011 Alejandro Ochoa Vegahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessOchoa Vega, Alejandro 2021-03-26T19:32:37Zoai:ojs.emnuvens.com.br:article/307Revistahttps://revistaarqurb.com.br/arqurbPRIhttps://revistaarqurb.com.br/arqurb/oairevista.arq.urb@saojudas.br||1984-57661984-5766opendoar:2021-03-26T19:32:37arq.urb - Universidade São Judas Tadeufalse
