Mediation of reading in the experiences of students of the UFBA Social Sciences course

Resumo: | The mediation of reading as a conscious interference in the process of training readers is the theme of this communication. In this perspective, this research aimed to analyze the process of training students in the Social Sciences course at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), as readers, and the interferences of reading mediation in the Documentation II curricular component. The research is configured as descriptive that adopted the case study as a method. We opted for the technique of applying a questionnaire to the students, enrolled in that component, in order to obtain information about the taste for reading; the use of information sources; and the mediator's interference in reading training. In order to carry out the research, it was necessary to reflect, in the light of literature, that approached the theme of reading from the perspective of Perrotti (1999) and Dumont (2020); as well as mediation of reading from the conceptions of Bortolin (2010); Jesus and Gomes (2019); Cavalcante (2021) and Santos, Sousa and Almeida Junior (2021). We conclude that in higher education, subject readers should also be supported to achieve autonomy in the process of critical, reflective reading and that allows a reflection on themselves and their actions as the protagonist subject. |

Nesta perspectiva, esta pesquisa teve por objetivo analisar o processo de formação dos estudantes do curso de Ciências Sociais da Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), enquanto leitores, e as interferências da mediação da leitura no componente curricular Documentação II. A pesquisa se configura como descritiva que adotou como método o estudo de caso. Optou-se pela técnica de aplicação de questionário junto aos discentes, inscritos no referido componente, visando a obtenção de informações sobre o gosto pela leitura; o uso das fontes de informação; e a interferência do mediador na formação leitora. Para a realização da pesquisa foi necessária uma reflexão, à luz da literatura, que abordasse o tema leitura na perspectiva de Perrotti (1999) e Dumont (2020); como também mediação da leitura a partir das concepções de Bortolin (2010); Jesus e Gomes (2019); Cavalcante (2021) e Santos, Sousa e Almeida Junior (2021). Conclui-se que no ensino superior os sujeitos leitores também devem ser apoiados para o alcance da autonomia no processo de leitura crítica, reflexiva e que possibilita uma reflexão sobre si e suas ações como sujeito protagonista.Universidade de São Paulo.
