Intervention program for parents of children with learning disabilities: an preliminary study

Resumo: The entrance to the elementary school is an important moment in the schooling process. The literature indicates that guiding the family in this process, using resources from the family environment, can be crucial in the prevention of school difficulties. In this context, this study implemented and evaluated a proposal of intervention in the form of a psychopedagogical program -"Psychopedagogical Program Parents Orientation" (PPOP in Portuguese), addressed to parents and families responsible for children with learning difficulties, included in the first grades of elementary school in regular public schools, in order to investigate the conditions of implementation of PPOP. Eight students and their respective parents participated in this study. The analysis show that this program can be implemented in large scale and was satisfactory in terms of form and content, according to the participants' reports.

La entrada en la escuela primaria es un momento importante en el proceso de escolarización. La literatura apunta que orientar la familia en cuesto proceso, partir de recursos de su ambiente puede ser fundamental en la prevención de dificultades escolares. En ese contexto, el presente estudio aplico y evalúo una propuesta de intervención en la modalidad de un Programa Psicopedagógico de orientación a los padres (PPOP), dirigida a los padres y las familias responsables de los niños con dificultades de aprendizaje, inclusos en la primera serie de escuelas primarias regulares en la escuela pública, con el fin de investigar las condiciones de ejecución de PPOP. Participaran de la investigación ocho estudiantes y sus padres. Las análisis demuestran que el programa puede ser aplicado en una escala más amplia y mostró satisfactoria cuanto a la forma y el contenido, partir del relato de los participantes. O ingresso no ensino fundamental constitui um momento importante no processo de escolarização. A literatura aponta que orientar a família nesse processo, a partir de recursos de seu ambiente, pode ser fundamental na prevenção de dificuldades escolares. Nesse contexto, o presente estudo implementou e avaliou uma proposta de intervenção na modalidade de um Programa Psicopedagógico de Orientação a Pais (PPOP), dirigido a pais e familiares responsáveis por crianças com dificuldades de aprendizagem incluídas nas primeiras séries do ensino fundamental de escola pública regular, com objetivo de investigar as condições de implementação do PPOP. Participaram da pesquisa oito pais de alunos e seus filhos. As análises demonstraram que o Programa está apto a ser implementado em maior escala e mostrou-se satisfatório quanto à forma e conteúdo, a partir do relato dos participantes.
