Resumo: This paper presents the application of the Augmented Reality tool – AR Sandbox in the Landscape and Urban and Rural Planning. From the topological educational experience carried out with the semiotic resource of tangible computing, it enabled numerous applications such as: recognizing the studied landscape and its modeled; understand the graphic translation of this modeled by representing by level curves; interact (tactile and visually) with the transformations of the modeled; simulate the path of the flowing waters on the different surfaces of a modeled; study strategies for the scope and protection of territories; and especially identify areas susceptible to natural and man-made accidents and disasters. As a result, it presents the great potential of the tool in expanding experiences and accelerating results. The tool was developed with the participation of teachers and students, expanding their experiences and interactions and accelerating their learning process, in addition to sensitizing them about prevention of risk areas in human settlement spaces.
