Resumo: | This article is about Prof. Fred S. Keller, his life and his work. It shows how the practices this eminent scientist and educator account for his success as a teacher, as a researcher and as a promoter of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior. The article includes testimony of colleagues, alumini and early colaborators about their experiences of working and studying under and with Prof. Keller. Throughout the article it becomes clear that Prof. Keller's art resided on his way of listening, asking questions and making suggestions while teaching. In every statement we see how his love and his profound respect for other human beings deeply affected his students and his friends. |

Keller como cientista e educador. São detalhados comportamentos que explicam o sucesso do professor e divulgador da análise experimental do comportamento. Além das análises da pessoa e do cientista Keller, realizadas pelo autor, foram incluídos depoimentos de colaboradores e ex-alunos. Destaca-se uma maneira de ensinar, através do ouvir, perguntar e fornecer sugestões que parecem ser o ponto básico do comportamento de Keller. Embora nem sempre seja explicitado, está contido no artigo seu amor e respeito pelas pessoas. São apresentadas de forma resumida as contribuições mais importantes da obra de Keller: o ensino do código Morse, a aplicação da análise do comportamento e o plano Keller, um sistema de ensino personalizado.
