Fremdsprachenlernen im Teletandem: Ein deutsch-brasilianisches Kollaborationsprojekt aus der Sicht teilnehmender Studierender

Resumo: This article presents the results of an international Teletandem cooperation project between the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of São Paulo, with primary focus on the impact of the program from the perspective of the students who participated in the program. Teletandem partnerships are based on cooperations between universities around the world, offering students with different target languages the opportunity to deepen their language and cultural knowledge in a common context in video conferences (e.g. via Meet, Zoom, Skype). In this project, in which Brazilian and German students were involved, the students were accompanied by the project coordinators at three group meetings (introductory meeting, intermediate feedback and final feedback meeting) in addition to learning with their peers during the Tandem interactions. In order to establish hypotheses about the goals, expectations and experiences of Brazilian and German students, two data collections were carried out through online questionnaires. The results indicate a great potential of Teletandem projects, not only for better communication in the target language, but also for increasing motivation, autonomy and empathy as well as for critical reflection on the individual learning process.

As parcerias de Teletandem são baseadas em colaborações entre universidades de todo o mundo, na qual estudantes de línguas estrangeiras têm a oportunidade de desenvolver o seu conhecimento de língua e cultura em um contexto colaborativo em encontros de videoconferências (Meet, Zoom, Skype). Neste projeto que envolvia estudantes brasileiros e alemães, além da aprendizagem colaborativa em pares, os estudantes foram acompanhados pelos coordenadores do projeto em três encontros (Encontro de Apresentação, Encontro de Acompanhamento e Encontro de Discussão Final). No intuito de levantar hipóteses acerca dos objetivos, expectativas e experiências dos estudantes brasileiros e alemães, foram aplicadas duas coletas de dados por meio de questionários online. Os resultados sugerem um grande potencial de projetos de Teletandem, não apenas no intuito de alcançar uma melhor comunicação em língua estrangeira, mas também para o aumento da motivação, autonomia e empatia, assim como para uma reflexão crítica sobre o processo de aprendizagem individual.In diesem Artikel werden die Ergebnisse eines internationalen Teletandemkooperationsprojekts zwischen der Freien Universität Berlin und der Universität von São Paulo vorgestellt, dessen Hauptaugenmerk auf den Auswirkungen des Programms aus der Sicht seiner teilnehmenden Studierenden liegt. Teletandempartnerschaften beruhen auf der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Universitäten in der ganzen Welt, bei denen Studierende verschiedener Zielsprachen die Möglichkeit haben, ihre Sprach- und Kulturkenntnisse in einem gemeinsamen Kontext in Videokonferenzen (z.B. über Meet, Zoom, Skype) zu vertiefen. In diesem Projekt, an dem brasilianische und deutsche Studierende beteiligt waren, wurden die Studierenden neben dem gemeinsamen Lernen in Tandempartnerschaften von den Projektkoordinator:innen bei drei Gruppen-Treffen begleitet (Einführungstreffen, Zwischen-Feedback und abschließendes Feedback-Treffen). Um Hypothesen über die Ziele, Erwartungen, Erfahrungen brasilianischer und deutscher Studierender zu sammeln, wurden zwei Datenerhebungen mit Hilfe von Online-Fragebögen durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse deuten auf ein großes Potenzial von Teletandemprojekten hin, nicht nur für eine bessere Kommunikation in der Zielsprache, sondern auch für den Zuwachs von Motivation, Autonomie und Empathie sowie für eine kritische Reflexion über den individuellen Lernprozess.Universidade de São Paulo.
