Resumo: The article proposes that the essence of prevention in early childhood is related to the function of the adult that supports the child´s subjectivity, which involves anticipation and constitutive interpretation. It discusses a certain practice of preventing that builds grids and scales searching to identify and detect signs of risk, as a tentative to control the anxiety before the emptiness that the unpredictable, elusive, imperfect raise. Early prevention is proposed as listening and monitoring of individuals, not as detection and prediction, from the perspective of psychopathology, which considers the subjectivity and uniqueness of each story.

Discute una cierta práctica de la prevención que, mediante la identificación y detección de señales de riesgo, constuye redes y escalas como si asi tratasen de controlar la ansiedad ante el vacío que lo imprevisible, impoderabel, imperfecto sucitan. Al contrario, se propone la prevención precoz como escuta y seguimiento de los individuos, no como la detección y predicción, desde la perspectiva de la psicopatologia que considera la subjetividad y la singularidad de cada historia.O artigo defende que a essência da prevenção na primeira infância relaciona-se à função subjetivante do adulto, envolvendo antecipação e interpretação constitutiva. Discute certa prática da prevenção que constrói grades e escalas, inventariando sinais de risco, entendendo-a como uma maneira de conter a angústia frente ao vazio que o imprevisível, imponderável, imperfeito suscitam.
